Ethylene-glycol base + water raises the boiling margin and lowers the freezing point versus plain water. In 45°C traffic or ghat climbs, that margin is the difference between reaching home and opening the bonnet.

Colour is your selector: Green ≈ all-season hybrid, Blue ≈ heavy-duty, Red ≈ long-life, Purple ≈ special application. Colour is not quality — never mix colours. Flush and fill one series.
Water alone?
Plain water boils sooner, freezes sooner, rusts everything and scales the radiator. In India’s heat + hard water, it’s the costliest “saving”.
